JalPari Table Lamp [Totem series]

JalPari means mermaid, jal for water and pari for fairy, and looking at how this lamp moves through its colours, purple settling into lavender, lavender rising into a bright yellow, it isn't hard to see why the name fits. There's a fluidity to the way the shapes shift into one another.

The base is ceramic, mold cast in a deep purple, sitting on a black metal foot. A black painted aluminum ring separates it from the three pieces above, all thrown on the pottery wheel by hand, a speckled lavender form, a rounded yellow one, and a narrow peach neck that carries the piece up to the shade. The shade itself is printed with one of my own designs, a vintage car layered under bold, overlapping type, reverse printed onto a clear sticker and set on the inside, so the full image only comes through once the lamp is lit.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece from the Totem series. I design, shape, and finish each one myself. No two pieces in this series are the same, and once this lamp is gone, it will not be made again.
