A small number of soap dishes were produced to explore how different shapes and materials could help keep soap dry after each use. Trials with unglazed terracotta proved ineffective: the material absorbed water and eventually released it back onto the soap, increasing moisture. Most of the other shapes and designs were successful in keeping soap drier.

The exploration is ongoing, with glazed ceramic and porcelain as the next materials to investigate.
