Babbu Gosha Table Lamp [Totem series]
Pickup currently not available
Babbu Gosha sits low and rounded, built the way I like to build these totems, layer by layer, each material given its own moment before the next one starts.
The lamp begins on a black metal base, holding a length of wood I turned on the lathe, left with a soft, matte, natural surface. Above it sits a small cap made from upcycled aluminum, painted black, which carries the eye up into the piece that dominates the lamp, a rounded form thrown on the pottery wheel and glazed in a soft mint green. A thin red accent ring sits just below the shade, a small spark of colour before the light itself takes over.
Babbu Gosha comes with a choice of two shades, both printed with designs of my own. One layers vintage poster type and imagery into a collage of colour and text. The other holds a close portrait, a face looking back at you, most visible once the lamp is lit. This is one lamp, and you choose the shade that speaks to you, not two separate pieces.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece from the Totem series. I design, shape, and finish each one myself. No two pieces in this series are the same, and once this lamp is gone, it will not be made again.
