Chiragh table lamp B02 [Totem series]
Pickup currently not available
Chiragh means lamp, in the sense of a small flame that holds its own light, and this piece leans into that quite literally. Turned entirely from rosewood, it rises in a tight column of ridged black rings before a band of deep red and a touch of blue break up the rhythm, all of it sitting on a plain ivory cylinder base.
The red, black, and blue sections are hand turned and finished by the craftsmen at our workshop in Lahore, Pakistan. I brought this particular piece together and did the final construction and finishing myself here in Canada. You can choose how you want to live with this one: bare, with the bulb exposed at the top the way you see it in its simplest form, or fitted with a printed shade carrying one of my own designs, a masked figure layered under bold, overlapping type, reverse printed onto a clear sticker so it only fully reveals itself once the lamp is lit.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece from the Totem series. No two pieces in this series are the same, and once this lamp is gone, it will not be made again.
