Biju Bawra Table Lamp [Totem series]

Biju Bawra carries another one of my pink Himalayan salt pieces at the top, this time turned into a low, rounded disc rather than a full stand, glowing warm and uneven when the lamp is lit. Below it, a narrow, unglazed ceramic neck leads down into a deep red glazed ceramic section, the surface streaked and mottled the way this glaze tends to move when it's fired. Everything from the salt disc down is thrown on the pottery wheel, except the solid black ceramic piece near the base, which grounds the lamp before it meets the black metal foot.

Biju Bawra comes with a choice of two shades, both printed with designs of my own. One layers a close portrait with bold overlaid type. The other combines vintage poster fragments, type, and imagery into a busier collage. This is one lamp, and you choose the shade that speaks to you.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece from the Totem series. I design, shape, and finish each one myself, and worked closely with the craftsmen in the salt mountains of Pakistan who carved the salt piece to size. No two pieces in this series are the same, and once this lamp is gone, it will not be made again.
